Is the cake here good??
Massive selection of international foods! This place had the largest selection I've ever seen. They also offered to-go plates and a bakery. The bakery had excellent buns, however the curry bun wasn't much to talk about... The red bean and cheese is one I would highly recommend. The aisles were straight and nice and easy to find what you needed.
MoreI love to shop in International food markets. This one was a disappointment to me. I could not tell what is the source of the fresh fish? Most of the frozen fish is from China. When I walk into a Chineese market my expectation is to find Fresh vegetables and fruit, it was not the case this time..
MoreAmazing selection of product and eastern foods not to be rivaled in the triangle.
MoreI love the huge variety of noodles that can be found here...much more than in an American grocery store. This store is pretty good sized with lots of food, drinks and housewares. There's also a hot food bar, but I haven't tried any of that yet. I will say that there is a pretty strong fish odor (they have fresh seafood) that hits you when you walk in but once you're there for a little bit it's not as noticeable.
MoreThis was my first time here but they have an amazing selection of things I recognized and those I didn't. The seafood area was particularly impressive
MoreLocation of this Asian grocery store is convenient, but the cleanliness is not good. They have cleaned up the meat and seafood sections, but there is still the unmistakable smell. Good for buying condiments, canned goods, and other products that are packaged, but check the expiration date. There is also produce not available in conventional grocery stores, but again check the freshness before purchasing. Otherwise for prepared foods go to Grand Asia or H Mart.
MoreI just popped my head in here on a Saturday morning. It was clean and very neat in the inside.
MoreI don't usually give bad reviews. So let me first say the Market I loved. The service from the cashier was horrible. She so irritated by my presence 🙄 for no reason at all. It was my second time shopping there and I ended up in her line both times. Ill give them one more try because the store has a great selection and I'll go from there. So we will. I may have to find my Chinese dates from somewhere elese🙄
MoreGreat place to get a wide variety of mushrooms, produce, rice, sauces, seasonings, etc. Mostly Asian products with a small hispanic- Caribbean section. It can be tricky to select items if you don't know what you are looking for. Minimal English on packaging.
MoreThey have a decent selection, but the prices are too expensive. After I bought a few things at Li Ming and was surprised at the price, I walked over to Mekong Market (same shopping center, 500 feet away), and they had a lot of the same things for a lot cheaper. Next time, I'll start at Mekong and then go to Li Ming's for the things I can't find at Mekong Market. Other than the prices being way to high, I have no complaints, especially when they keep Filipino Longanisa in stock.
MoreA really nice market with a lot to look at. I love all of the food that is hard to find anywhere else in the area, and I love learning about foods from other cultures. The staff is super nice, and it has a lot of stuff to look at. It's a little chilly, so I do recommend wearing a jacket sometimes.
MoreGreat place to shop for Asian cuisine food court is reasonable and savory.
Found some cheaper Japanese candy here. Needs more british stuff
Very large assortment of Asian foods. Hit and miss on prices, but a lot of good prices. Lots of veggies and fish for sale. Took away one star and almost two because good luck finding anyone that speaks English in there to help you find anything.
MoreMy go-to Asian market with fresh veggies, exotic fruit, everything you need for any Asian dish you're looking to make!
MoreGreat hot bar with a wide variety of dishes. Very wide select ion of Oriental foods and items.
MoreCoronavirus pandemic update: One of the best places to shop for groceries. Very conscious of best practices for shopping safely.Hard to find things sometimes, but I don't know any Chinese. Amazing selection and great prices on Asian food items.
MoreGreat selection and prices! Found everything we needed and more. Very clean, a pleasurable experience overall.
MoreGrowing up Chinese and with so many traditions, I was so excited to discover Li Ming’s Global Market. Walking into the store I was overwhelmed with memories of my childhood. All the smells from the seafood to the herbs to the vegetables invoked a deluge of memories of my grandmother in our kitchen preparing traditional foods. Especially this time of year so close to Lunar New Year, I am very thankful for Li Ming’s to be able to provide a little bit of home. If you are Chinese and craving any sort of dish from your childhood, chances are very good you will find the ingredients here to make it. If you don’t feel like cooking there is a cafe that serves traditional Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine. I am not one to purchase groceries or even cook but I walked out of Li Ming’s with a cart full of groceries to make all the dishes my grandmother used to make. Thank you so much for being part of the community. Happy Chinese New Year 🐁
MoreI've been going to Li Ming at least two or three times a month for the last 1,5 years living in Chapel Hill-Carrboro. It's not easy to find Asian Market in Chapel Hill-Carrboro area, so the closest and biggest one is probably Li Ming. They have vegetables and herbs that grows in Asian country. They also have fresh and frozen seafoods. They have foods that come mostly from East Asia countries.
MoreWe purchased a big salmon head this afternoon. We found it was totally rotten and smell really bad when we opened it at home. We had to put it into our trash can! It is the second times we have bad seafood from this Chinese market.Think again if you want to buy seafood from Li Ming.
MoreFunny smell but overall a solid supermarket with a good selection of Asian goods (especially Chinese/Vietnamnese things that can’t be found in places like Hmart). Goods are also a little overpriced.
MoreI haven't been to this market for three years. Today I was surprised to find the quality of vegetables and fruits degrading unbelievably. The packaged vegetables were not fresh at all, with many rotten and yellow leaves hidden inside the bags. Bean sprouts cost $ 6.98 per pound. Are you kidding? Please take actions to restore customers' confidence if you still care about your brand.
MoreBest place to go shopping for Chinese food near UNC and Duke.
You can find almost anything for Chinese cuisine here. Fresh seafood as well.
Seems like they have everything you need.If you want some exciting cooking, trying something new for dinner at home, this is the place.
MoreSuch a great ethnic grocery that continued to improve. The fish mongers are great. Amazing selection of everything. I'm very glad that they have diminished their focus on 50% American products and gone to strictly Asian with a tiny Middle Eastern/ Carribean section. Check out the unique goods at the bakery. And bubble tea! The Chinese Cafe is about as authentic as it gets shy of China Town in San Francisco or NYC in the USA.
MoreI don't mind driving a little bit to get to this Asian market. Always have anything I need. I often go here just to get my regular produce. It's good quality, cheaper than most supermarkets and often bigger (eg bell peppers, carrots)
MoreShopping at Li Ming's is a great experience. It's like visiting Asia.My wife and I go there for the fresh produce; especially mushrooms. Everything is very fresh and the prices are lower than one would expect. Also, if you're looking for a wide variety of fresh fish and Asian products this is the place to go in the triangle area.
MoreVery cool place for Asian food. Unfortunately if you're not Asian you may not be able to read any packages. They are all in Chinese. Still fascinating to browse through.
MoreGlobal Market as part of its name truly represents variety of foods it carries. Food course service Chinese dishes comes handy for either eat in or takeout. Nice to have this in Durham.
Moregolly what a good meal
I really appreciate the options that this grocery has. While this is called a Global Market, note that this market focuses predominantly on Asian products. That said, I'm always finding excellent options at friendly prices. Great fresh vegetable, fruit, and seafood options are available. A huge selection of prepackaged and frozen Asian goods exist as well. I can't help buying a lot more than what I planned and experimenting with what I've bought. I recommend this place highly!
MoreGood Asian grocery store that has a wide variety of general foods, produce, and fish. You have to be careful and check freshness dates, though. Produce freshness is not reliable but the variety is nice. Three fish miners told me that Wednesday and Thursdays are the best days to go to get the freshest fish.
MoreThe supermarket I visit the most. Cannot live without LiMing. Reasonable price and everything I need for Chinese food.
MoreClean establishment. Great variety of food, houshold items, candy. Has a hot food section also.
MoreGreat location for fresh Asian food. Loads of seafood, including lots of seafood Americans would not recognize.
MoreThey do not like black people at all. My husband is Asian so he is treated well. But when I went to pay she put the receipt down as a signed and before I finished she snatched it away and politely handed my receipt to my husband . She never said a word to me they are extremely racist. Do not come here if you have any color
MoreNice varied selection. Would be nice to have English tags or signs on sauces and ramen. Maybe a directory. ...I was lost and it turned into a lot of detective work on Google. Patrons were very friendly and helpul.
MoreAll what I expected. They have all kinds of food from all over the world. The fish section smelled like a fish market you would find overseas. Now the rice sections, they had all kinds so many different varieties. The ramen section had the same. They did lack on the sake section, you would think they would have more of a variety.
MoreBest Asian market around. I can always find everything I'm looking for, and I always find something new to try. The staff is friendly, and the old man the runs the bakery is great. Great prices and tons of variety. Awesome produce section, and every kind of meat you can think of.
MoreLots of diversity in grocery items & brands offered. They just don't keep/ any Hand Sanitizing stations like normal grocery stores would. They don't sanitize their grocery carts or baskets between customers. They only require you to wear a mask as you shop. You would have to practice your own safety protocol while shopping. Barely any sanitation protocol between customer checkouts except for the marks of 6ft of distance.
MoreExpansive selection of food, including fresh vegetables and fruit. Fresh fish, a large selection of spices and sauces.
MoreGreat selection of greens and Asian food stuffs.
Amazing Asian grocer, if you are looking for eastern, Asian, or very niche products for cooking then this is the place for you.Found some amazing seasonings, sauces, oils, noodles, and rice products. Though I did not have to much time to try some fo their meats. They do have a well establish meat section with various meat products down to pork sections and various frozen/fresh seafood options. It is very hard to find good quality seafood inland of NC and this place does a fantastic job at it.
MoreGreat variety of food and items to buy from here. From Japanese, Korean and Chinese items as well as some Latino things too. There are many fruits you can find here that you might not find at your local grocer so that always pretty sweet. They also have a unique bakery, food plates and dinning sets and gifts such as teapots of all types of designs and styles. The only bad thing about the place is the return policy! Most of the people you will talk to there will have a difficult time understanding what you want or they will not care about the refund or exchange you'd nicely ask for. Even if you speak the language they do, the chance of you getting a refund it pretty low. So make sure that the fruit and vegetables or any other thing you will purchase is more than perfect.
MorePerfect place for Asian groceries, especially vegetables and different fresh fish varieties at reasonable price.
MoreLi Ming's is a great international market with a focus on Asian cuisine. The variety of fresh vegetables on hand is really remarkable. There is a vast selection of Asian candies and soft drinks, including Ramune it's imitators. There are always many live food options, as well as a full-service butcher shop in the back. The selection of sake is decent and authentic. Several times I have been the only non-Asian person in the store, but I have never felt unwelcome. Pro tip: the lychee jellies are in front of the registers.
MoreA great place for international, mainly east Asian, groceries and supplies. They also have a cafeteria-style restaurant with unique and delicious options and low prices. Restaurant is cash only but the store takes cards.
